1. What information do we hold about you and how is it collected?
When you send us a booking request, or contact us via our web site, we will collect some personal information including, for example, your name, email address and other contact details.
If you have enrolled for an assessed programme, we will also hold details of your result and performance in that assessment.
The collective data captured by “cookies” helps us determine how much our customers use specific parts of our site, so we can improve our site to ensure that it is as appealing as possible. Our cookies do not collect personally identifiable information and we do not combine information collected through cookies with other personally identifiable information to tell us who you are or even what your e-mail address is.
2. What do we do with your personal information?
We will use this information for the sole purpose of administering the programme on which you are enrolled. If you have indicated that you wish to hear about other offers, products and services we provide, we may (from time to time) inform you of these by email, telephone or mail.
We will also from time to time pass personal information to the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority (SRA), Bar Standards Board (BSB), Cilex Professional Standards or any other regulatory body in order for them to monitor how we assess and administer their accredited schemes. These regulatory bodies reserve the right to obtain information about candidates enrolled on their accredited schemes and, in doing so we will not be deemed to be in breach of this policy.
We will not disclose your personal information to any third party without your prior consent.
We endeavour to keep all candidates’ assessment information confidential. As part of this, we will not disclose results over the telephone or by fax – we will only write to a candidate at his/her nominated address – and we will not publish details of an entire cohort’s results or performances. All such information is otherwise stored securely. The exceptions to this are that we may sometimes be asked to disclose information to the SRA or other regulatory bodies and we may also have agreements with certain firms which enable us to disclose information to their training principals / managers.
3. What are your rights in relation to this information?
You have the following rights in respect of the information we hold:
(i) you can object to your personal information being used for marketing purposes. We give you the option to opt-out of us using your information for these purposes. For example, you can do this during the booking request process by following the simple instructions;
(ii) you can receive, upon payment of a fee, a copy of any personal information about you which is held by us; and
(iii) you can require the rectification, erasure or blocking of any of your personal information held by us which is inaccurate or not up to date.
If you wish to exercise any of these rights, or if you wish to opt-out of any future processing of your personal information held by us, then please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org , or write to the contact address set out below, stating your full name and address and providing any other relevant information.
4. When does this Policy not apply?
This Policy only applies to our collection of data and our use of that data. It does not cover third party sites to which we provide links, nor does it cover advertisers and content partners within our service who may also collect your personal information. They may have their own privacy policies and/or terms and conditions of use. If you choose to place your personal details on any publicly accessible page, then this Policy will not cover that data.
5. How do we protect your information?

We will immediately instigate an investigation and will endeavour to formally respond to you within 14 days. This investigation, and any recommendations or proposals we make, will not affect your rights and remedies at law.
6. Staff training
As part of any new member of staff’s induction, we give them training on this policy and the practical implementation of it.
Should a member of staff breach this policy, it will, depending on the severity of the breach and the consequences that ensue, either result in a programme of re-training or disciplinary action.
