Cardiff-based altior Consulting and Training, one of the UK's leading legal training providers, has appointed a new business development manager to handle the company's expansion plans.
Barbara Anderson, from Cardiff, who is a fully qualified solicitor, will be responsible for building client relationships, expanding the company's range of training courses and developing new business.

Before joining altior - which is headed up by father and son John and Mark Loosemore - Barbara spent eight years working as a solicitor at Loosemores Solicitors in Cardiff, the firm that was originally set up by John Loosemore.

"I joined Loosemores Solicitors when John, now altior's chairman, was still running it in 1982," said Barbara, who was a family lawyer and salaried partner at the firm. "I then took a career break to raise my daughter, but when I heard that altior was looking for a business development manager, it was an ideal opportunity to rejoin my former employer.

"I am delighted to be working with the family again, and I am looking forward to the new challenges I will be facing in my new role. As a solicitor myself, I understand the training needs of lawyers first hand, which will stand me in good stead to help grow the business even further."

Mark Loosemore, chief executive at altior, said: "Barbara was a valuable part of the team at Loosemores, and we are thrilled to be welcoming her at altior.

"altior already provides legal training across the UK and Barbara will be looking to develop our relationships with our many highly-valued existing clients and will also be looking after the increasing number of firms who are keen to work with us for the first time."

"altior has experienced terrific levels of growth over the past couple of years and we hope that Barbara's appointment will be the key to further growth."
