University of Glamorgan's legal eagles can now get their career off to a flying start thanks to the support of a leading legal training provider.
All students from University of Glamorgan's Legal Practice Course - the last course they have to complete before they become trainee solicitors at law firms - will be given the chance to apply for an 'altior Scholarship', which will see one of them pick up free legal training worth over £1,000.
The winning student's prize will be a free place on altior's Professional Skills Course, which is the final compulsory course that trainee solicitors and Fellows of the Institute of Legal Executives must complete before becoming fully qualified solicitors.
As part of its sponsorship deal, altior will also be giving a talk on the transition from student to trainee solicitor and will host a drinks reception for students during the end of the university year.
Professor Michael Stuckey, Head of the Law School at University of Glamorgan, said: "We see ourselves as a particularly progressive law school, geared towards running practical courses that equip students for whatever aspect of law they move into. This new sponsorship is great example of the added-value we can offer our students, with the help of a local company that excels nationally in its field."
