Cardiff-based altior, one of the UK's leading legal training providers, is planning for growth in 2005 with the appointment of four new course administrators recruited from around the globe.

The new team members have been brought in to deal with an upsurge in current course bookings and to prepare for further demand next year from law firms across the UK.

Kerry Pain, who was born in Australia but now living in Pontypridd, joins the team from the Welsh Assembly Government, having previously spent four years working for Cardiff Citizens' Advice Bureau. With altior's encouragement, Kerry is also continuing to study to become a member of the Institute of Legal Executives.

Jared Lelos, who is 24 and originally from Boston, USA, moved to Cardiff 18 months ago. With degrees in sociology/criminology and international conflict analysis under his belt, he spent a year working with Atlantic Gas before joining altior. Jared becomes an administrator on altior's Professional Skills Course for trainee solicitors and he also aims to finish a part-time course in International Public Law at Cardiff University.
Helena Knight, 25, originally from Slovakia, moved to Cardiff four years ago and joins altior from local loss adjustors Cunnigham Lindsey where she was diary manager. She will also take on the role of personal assistant to altior's chief executive Mark Loosemore and chairman John Loosemore.

Newport-born Tracy Salvage, 31, joins the team from Lidl, where she spent five years as a property administrator and secretary, assisting the property executive for Wales and his team. Tracy becomes an administrator in altior's practice management courses division.

altior's chief executive, Mark Loosemore, said: "Given the continuing increase in bookings for our courses - which we expect to continue into next year - and in order to maintain the high levels of customer service we pride ourselves on, we needed to bring more people on board.

"Having three of our four new members of staff coming from overseas has created a rather international feel in the office. But we are very aware of how important our customer-facing staff are to the business and, for that reason, we are always looking to attract the best people for the job - wherever they come from around the globe."
