Kaplan Law School is biting at the heels of its larger rivals after being picked by Trowers & Hamlins as its sole provider of the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and Graduate Diploma in Law.

Head of Kaplan Law School Giles Proctor said: “The trainees will participate in our Bridge to Practice programme which delivers high impact, practical modules that simulate typical scenarios they will encounter at the firm, allowing the trainees to hit the ground running.”

The fledgling law school recently struck a deal with Bird & Bird, which will now see all of the law firm’s future trainees complete a bespoke LPC from September 2009.

The new arrangement builds on Kaplan’s existing relationship with Trowers as its trainee intakes already receive Professional Skills Course training from Kaplan Altior.

In addition to Trowers and Bird & Bird, Kaplan is also the sole LPC provider to Bates Wells & Braithwaite, Mayer Brown and Nabarro.

Kaplan Law School, which is based in London’s trendy Borough Market teaches the Nottingham Law School LPC.
