PSC Elective Options

Helping you to reach your career goals

In addition to the core modules of the Professional Skills Course, trainee solicitors and those looking to qualify as solicitors (unless exempt) must complete 24 hours of electives. At least 12 hours of which must be taken as face to face tuition. Each Altior face to face elective carries an equivalent amount of distance learning.

As part of the Professional Skills Course, trainee solicitors (unless exempt) must complete 24 hours of electives, with at least 12 hours taken as face-to-face tuition. Our PSC package includes 2 elective options that satisfy this requirement. Each Altior elective carries an equal amount of face-to-face tuition and distance learning, meaning you gain a deeper understanding of the elective subject.

Single elective courses can also be taken as CPC/CPD by solicitors who either want to brush up on their skills or are moving into a new area of practice.

Trainee Solicitors can also take any of our continued competence and personal effectiveness courses to satisfy their elective requirements. These courses include a range of core business skills such as Business Writing and Business Development and Networking and interpersonal skills such as Negotiation Skills and Time Management.
